The Dal Lake in Srinagar is a must-see site for all tourists. The tourists are allowed to hire shikaras and house boats in Dal Lake to go around the lake and relax.

Jammu and Kashmir are also famous for the array of pilgrim sites it houses. Air: Jammu airport plies flights to major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Flights to international destinations need to be boarded in Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
Rail: The Jammu Railway Station, located 305 km from Srinagar, is extensively connected to major Indian cities. Jammu Tawi Railway station is used by tourists to reach southern states of the country.

Road: The roads in Jammu and Kashmir are extremely well maintained. National Highway 1A has enabled the state to be well connected with the rest of India. There are regular buses plying to major cities in North India.
