Anybody who owns airsoft pistols or airsoft sniper rifles is sure to want to carry them along whenever they travel too especially if one is going to meet another airsoft enthusiast at their destination. Well, if you are driving down, you carry along anything you want in your own car. It is also relatively easy to carry a firearm when traveling by coach or train. However, air travel poses a whole other scenario.

Today, flight regulations have been stricter than ever before. Check out any pre-flight guidelines for any airline and you will see a whole long list of things that you are not allowed to carry along with you in your carryon baggage. Airport security will not allow you to carry airsoft sniper rifles or airsoft pistols with you on board the aircraft. If you think you will try carrying your airsoft gun on board and will somehow convince the security staff that it is just a toy and that it poses no threat whatsoever and you are sure to come face to face with a brick wall. Even paintball guns are considered a threat. A word of caution- this is no time to create a scene about insisting to be allowed to carry your ‘harmless toy’ on board the aircraft. You may find that you have been knocked off the flight altogether.

If you are planning on carrying along your airsoft firearm with you, make sure you take the time to familiarize yourself with the latest regulations at your point of departure as well as the point of arrival. As a rule you will find that most airports have very stringent rules regarding allowing guns on board. All weapons, including accessories will have to go into your checked baggage. You will not be allowed to carry anything on board and this includes canisters, pellets or any other accessory that you have along with you.

One of the most important things that you should know if you are planning on taking your airsoft sniper rifle or your airsoft pistol on a flight with you is to make sure you declare it at the security counter and again at the ticketing counter. All checked in baggage is put through a metal detector before it is loaded onto the aircraft. There is no way you can hide it and not declaring it can result in some serious consequences. You will find yourself being questioned and if the authorities have the slightest doubt that what you are saying does not sound entirely true, you could find yourself detained till you can validate your story.
