I was house hunting and was in dire need for a house. I had a budget that could only allow me to buy a studio apartment. I did not think that I would be able to buy a bigger home within my budget. The estate-agents showed me many places and I liked one of the studio apartments but to my surprise the apartment had a closet bigger than its bathroom.
Anyway, I moved in and decided to give the place a touch of my own and make it as per my own taste. I decided to convert the closet space into a bathroom and use the bathroom as my closet. So, the task at hand was big. I had to make two transformations within my stipulated budget.
I measured the bathroom area which I wanted to convert to a closet. I got rid of the fittings from the bathroom. The fittings, to my surprise were less and minimal. There was no tub in the bathroom and I thanked God for that as removing a tub would have been a hassle. I chose wood laminates installations to stock and store my things in my new closet. I had special fixtures made out for the shoes as well since I love shoes and I ...
... have many of them!
I also measured the closet which I wished to turn into my bathroom. With the space at hand, I decided that I wanted a small tub. I bought a tub which fit into the new bathroom perfectly. I got a shower panel installed on top of the tub to create a comfortable bathing space. I got some nice solid surface countertops in the closet turned into a bathroom, to stock and store my cosmetics and other bathroom products.
After I was done with the closet and the bathroom arrangement, I figured it was time for me to take care of the rest of the space. I did not buy very heavy furnishing. I just bought a couple of beans bags, cane chairs and a pair of mattresses to make my bedding on the floor. I bought a partition for the room and divided the room into two halves. One half was my sleeping area as well as living area and the other comprised of a nice Greenlam gloss laminate for cooking as well as dining. The gloss laminate added a lot of interest and a lot of dynamism to the otherwise monotony of my cream colored walls. I jazzed up the walls with some nice portraits and my job was done!
