India has for a long time been a major tourist destination, drawing tourists from all parts of the world seeking to unravel the mystery behind this country that is rich in history, culture and wildlife.

Visitors to India have a host of towns to choose from, all of which have beautiful and breathtaking attractions. The major places that have tourists flocking are Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan and most definitely India's capital city, New Delhi. This city is particularly famous for among other things its rich history. New Delhi is very attractive, providing the visitor with the best of sceneries across its green outlook. New Delhi is a capital city in its own right and is home to many monuments that not only tell of India's history but also are very attractive. One such monument is the India Gates that bear the names of all the Indian soldiers that lost their lives during the First World War. The other monument is the Red Fort that started being constructed in 1639 when the then Indian Emperor decided to shift the capital from Agra to New Delhi. It took eight years to complete after which the reigning Emperor moved in.

... major places that are main tourist attractions in the Indian capital are the Qutb Minar and the palaces and tombs of ancient leaders all of which have stoically stood the vagaries of time and are still as beautiful. There are a number of modern attractions which include the Bharan, Rajpath, and Connaught Palace among others. At the same time, New Delhi is home to a good number of religious temples that stand tall across the city. The main ones are the Jumma Masjid, Akshardham and the Lotus temples. Being home to many outstanding politicians, their places of residence are major attractions too, including the monument of Mahatma Gandhi.

India's capital is a perfect blend of history and modernity as exhibited by her age old bazaars that blend well with modern shopping malls thus giving the city a unique and incredible aura.

The Taj Mahal is by far the major tourist attraction apart from being one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Visitors to India are always seeking to set their eyes on this phenomenon.

Away from the capital, India has so much more to offer in form of wildlife, spectacular mountains and beautiful beaches. The Indian jungles are famous for a host of wild animals that include the tiger and the elephant which is a major part of the lives of the Indian people. Some of the major wildlife destinations in India include the Kaziranga National Park, the Sariska Tiger Reserve, the Bandhargarh and Kanha National Parks among others. The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is another major attraction for bird watchers.

The South of India has a lot to offer as well. It boasts of beautiful sunny beaches that offer a great, relaxing atmosphere for visitors to this side of India. Besides all the above attractions, pilgrimage is a major event that has a large number of people going into India. The major Pilgrimage sites include Varanasi, the Golden Temple and Haridwar among others.

India is always ready to receive the many tourists that visit the country all year through with a lot to offer as well as a vibrant night life for the young visitors seeking some fun. There are also plenty of hotels, restaurants and pubs.
