One of the most important features of these is that it is the only printing system which doesn’t require ink in it. It works by heating the chemically coated paper, which on response to the heat, changes to a particular colour, usually black. These consist of three key components: a thermal head which generates heat; a platen that supplies paper to the machine; a spring that applies pressure to the thermal head for heating the thermal paper. There are control boards for examining and controlling the functioning of the machine. The working procedure is very simple. When electric current passes to the thermal head, the spring activates the heating elements of the system which sensitize the thermo chromic papers.
