Pune is the ninth largest metropolis in India. It is situated 560 meters above sea level on the Deccan plateau at the confluence of the Mula and Mutha rivers. Pune was originally called as Punawadi. It was also called as the "monsoon capital" of the Bombay Presidency until the independence of India. Pune is the hub for educational institutions, information technology and automotive companies. One can travel by road from Pune to Delhi. The distance between Pune and Delhi is 1464 km. It takes about 20 hours and 40 minutes by road. One has to cover Pune - Mumbai - Ahmedabad - Jaipur - Delhi. On the way, there are restaurants and dhabas catering to the needs of travellers. There are also gas stations like Reliance petrol pump with washroom facilities. There are also ATMs like HDFC, State bank of India en route to Delhi. There are private cabs and tax services commuting between Pune to Delhi. The cab fare ranges from Rs. 28,000 to Rs. 35,000.

There are private luxury buses which travel from Pune to Delhi. The bus fares depend on the kind of bus preferred for travel. Both the cities have good bus termini which cater the needs of travellers.

The Indian Railways has provided frequent train services from Pune to Delhi. Trains from Pune arrive in Delhi at New Delhi Station and Nizamuddin Station. Trains to Delhi depart from Pune Junction. Goa Express, Swarna Jayanti is some of the trains travelling from Pune to Delhi. It takes about 26 hours to travel to reach Delhi.

Pune and Delhi have airport facilities. IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India provide their services to travellers. The time taken for air travel will be approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes.
