Rummy may be just one out of the several card games to be introduced online, but it is definitely the fastest growing online game today. Apart from being skill based and intensely intriguing, the main strength of this game lies in the fact that it can be diversified easily. A basic rummy game requires two to four players and each player is dealt with fixed number of cards. This number depends on the rules for the game. The motive of players is to create sets with the cards that they have and the ones which they pick as the game progresses.

The number of cards that each player holds remains constant throughout the game and the player who manages to make his set first wins the game. Indian Rummy is a popular card game in India with little variation from original rummy. It may be referred to as a cross between Gin rummy and Rummy 500. It is played with 13 cards and at least two decks, and sometimes with wild cards. A feature which adds to the attraction of the game is the variants of rummy India. These variants add spice to the playing experience by providing variety. 13 cards rummy ...
... is perhaps the foundation for all variants. In this game 13 cards are dealt to all players and a card is picked randomly which is to be used as joker.

This joker card is an essential part of this game as it fills in to complete sequences and sets. However the rule for using a joker is that at least one mandatory pure run (without using joker) is needed to meld before the joker card can be used. In this game the players have a number of choices to make. They can opt to play the 101 points rummy game in which the person to reach 101 points last, wins and the other one is the 201 points rummy game where the person to reach 201 points last, wins the game. Another variant is the Point’s rummy game which is played by giving points some monetary value.

This value dictates all aspects of the game including the rake-amount, the minimum stake that each player has to put in and the prize money at the end of each game. Marriage rummy in India is played sometimes with 13 cards with 2 decks or 3 decks as the case maybe. The most popular variation is the 21 card marriage Indian rummy game. This is played with 21 cards and minimum of 3 decks of cards. All these variants make Indian rummy a very exciting and popular game among all the age group people.
