Change is the spice of life; it applies to you as well as homes and buildings. The same old look always makes it dull and boring and since we are living in the 21st century, we have to redefine our space with the changing times. Now the question is, are interior designers really required or can one redecorate the house with a do it yourself method.


Well, there could be many possibilities when considering the above. Let’s talk about the do it yourself method, one could make basic changes inside their homes depending upon their requirements , like moving few objects here and there maybe add or remove few things but that would actually wouldn’t do much or it would end up in a disaster. This would be temporary and would not make much of a difference, now even doing it yourself could be satisfactory to some people.

The process of interior designing requires a one to one correspondence between the client and designer, if the client has a different perspective or vision it has to be convey to the interior designer. Interior designers cannot sit quiet and listen to the client, they have to question the client and give suggestions for the best possible outcome or result. An interior designer has to be sharp and should be able to deliver a multitude of design ideas in varying cultures. Clients would like their space to be redecorating with designs from another culture; this is where the true skill of an interior designer is identified merging ideas from two different minds, and making them work.


As there are so many parameters involved in designing interiors like lighting, acoustics, colors, orientation and placement of objects a designer should have the vision to see the complete picture before the start of work. Thorough analysis of every room is a requirement in terms of area and orientation. In terms of decorating items a designer has to look for quality and price, not every client would want an extravagant choice of items, some are happy with small articles or artifacts and others prefer expensive ones. Interior designers have to work on themes and designs to give each space a perfect, unique, look and feel.
