Unfortunately, cars do not always break down right by your house, and if they happen to break down many miles from home, the cost of getting your car back could be huge in itself.

Whilst some people will have breakdown cover for such circumstances, many policies still only cover them to be towed to the nearest garage. As such, even if you are covered you may be looking at a lengthy wait before your car can be transported home. This can cause many problems as not only might you need to find a different way to get back home initially, but you are also likely to have to pay a great deal of money to return to the location once your car has been repaired just so you can finally get it home.

There are of course other instances where the associated costs can add up to a huge amount more than the actual repair itself, but in any such circumstances drivers should be asking themselves whether or not repairing the car is actually worth the expense.
