How To Redecorate Your Home Room By Room
Are you eager to redecorate your home? If you are it is essential to plan it out room by room, otherwise you will end up doing bits and pieces here and there and never getting the whole thing done.
For starters it makes sense to plan out the house and consider which rooms you will decorate first. Often, if you are doing the whole house, it can be best to start upstairs and then work your way down. This prevents you from trampling through rooms you have already decorated in order to get to the ones you haven’t.
Once you have picked a room to start with, consider the colour scheme you want to have. You will be painting the ceiling and walls (or hanging wallpaper, depending on your likes and dislikes) and possibly replacing the flooring as well. Do you want carpet or hardwood flooring? Would laminate be a cheaper choice? Think of all the possibilities and go from there.
The colour scheme is important as it will likely influence the furniture you have in your room as well. You may have your eye on Vitra furniture; if you do you need to think of the items you want and how they will fit into the room in terms ...
... of fitting in with the colour scheme. Bear this in mind as you make progress.
It is wise to give yourself plenty of time to decorate each room as well. It might be possible to do a small box room in a weekend but other rooms will take longer, especially if you have to empty them out before you even begin. If you have furniture you are keeping, make sure it is removed from the room or at least well covered before you start.
Once the room is decorated you can start getting serious about adding in some furniture. This can be done by looking at catalogues, looking online and browsing furniture shops for inspiration. In some cases you might spot a single item that influences the rest of your choices. An Eames chair could sit perfectly in the corner of a room, or perhaps Vitra furniture would be ideal for the room you are renovating. Keep an open mind and see where it takes you.
You have to start thinking of the end result eventually too. Looking at an Eames chair could inspire a whole new image of how the finished room will look. You might get this kind of inspiration at a very early stage, and take the colour scheme for the room from a single item of furniture. However regardless of how you get there, the finished result will be a joy to behold. When one room is finished you can get started with planning the rest, even as you enjoy putting your feet up and enjoying a break! Decorating is challenging but ultimately rewarding, as you are sure to find out. So why not get started now and give your home a makeover?
