Most of us were probably bitten by swallow bugs, which are closely related to bed bugs. Swallow bugs feed on cliff swallows and barn swallows and are common at higher elevations. Their bite is considerably more painful than bed bug bites. Homeowners should remove any swallow nests from around the eaves of the cabin. Federal law protects swallows and their nests so this will have to be done before the birds resume nesting next spring. Screening the eaves of the cabin can deter new nesting. Do not use insecticides near the nests, as they are generally highly toxic to the birds. Bed bugs seem to be increasing in almost all the houses and properties, therefore several thousands of people around the state are hiring the Oakland Bed Bug Control companies in order to get the best solutions to eradicate.

If anyone notices drops of blood on the sheets then that is a good indication of bed bugs. Strip the bedding and look carefully along the seams of the mattress for bed bugs and their fecal matter. Also look around the buttons and in any tears in the mattress. Search the box spring as well and then check the bed frame. ...
... This is particularly true if the bed frame is wood. Check the places where the bed frame slats fit in the headboard and footboard, as this is a favorite hiding place. Also check behind any pictures or posters on the wall and along the seams of any carpet in the room. If the room has a wooden floor, they may hide between the wood slats.

Bed bugs are about one fourth long, broadly oval in shape, dark brown in color, and almost as flat, before feeding, as a piece of paper. If anyone finds bed bugs then they will have to treat all these areas with an insecticide, preferably a synthetic pyrethroid. If the homeowner call an exterminator, make sure they do a thorough inspection as outlined above and if they treat, ask them to use a synthetic pyrethroid. They may prefer to use an organophosphate, but they don't have to sleep in the room, where homeowner do. Don't hesitate to ask them for references of bed bug jobs they have done in the past, and don't hesitate to call those references to see if they were successful. It is important to do some back ground check before hiring any Oakland Bed Bug Control companies or exterminator.
