Hyundai Eon: Thumbs Up Or Down?

Good things come in small packages, and this is exactly what defines Hyundai’s new entrant in the market, the EON. Just like its name, this family car is compact, easy to drive and created especially for Indian roads. In fact, this A-segment car is expected to give tough competition to other big players like Maruti Alto, which is the highest-selling passenger car by Maruti Suzuki.
However, does this car really live up to the brand name of Hyundai? Does it get a thumbs up by experts and buyers? To find the answer to these read theHyundai EON review below.
Appearance
With its signature fluidic design, EON follows the league of other Hyundai cars. Hence, it comes in the trademark fresh and colorful look Hyundai assigns to its micro cars. The detailing in the headlightand the hexagonal front grille gives it a dynamic feel.
The refreshing interiors are made to match. The flowing lines of the dashboard and the door trims, along with the overall design gives it a premium feel. The plush seats, considerable legroom ...
... and placement of controls shows the thought put in behind its design. So, the look of the car certainly gets a thumbs up!
Engine and Performance
The Hyundai EONis powered by a 3-cylinder SOHC 814cc engine, which produces a maximum power of 56 Ps at 5500 rpm and a torque of 7.6 Kgm at 4000 rpm. It comes with a 5 speed manual gearbox. Being a small motor, you may face a few vibrations and grunts, along with a trembling gearbox on instant start or high rpms. However, this may all fade away once the car is in motion. While usually micro cars are ideal for city roads, this one is pleasurable for driving on highways; and why not; it offers a mileage of 16kmpl. The overall verdict on the engine would be good.
Safety and Comfort
For passenger safety, EONoffers rear seat belts, safety airbags, remotelocking system with child lock, keyless entry and engine immobilizer. Along with this, you may get your comfort with a powerful air-conditioning system, full-sized arm rests and front fog lamps. So this definitely gets a thumbs-up from the buyers.
Overall, if you are looking at a budget family car, which is classy as well as comfortable, then you should definitely opt for the Hyundai EON. Why not go for a quick spin around the city and give your own verdict on this car!
