Your Ecigarette Habit - 6 Dos And Don’ts
If you're thinking of giving up your traditional tobacco cigarettes in favor of a tobacco-less ecigarette, there are a few things you might want to know. They aren't "rules" per se - more like certain things you can expect when you start vaping on electronic cigarettes.
In order to get the most out of your electronic cigarettes, stick to these dos and don'ts:
DO feel free to "light up" almost anywhere
That's because you're not really lighting anything up! Unlike a traditional cigarette, an ecigarette doesn't create any smoke because it doesn't burn anything - so you can feel free to use it in a bar, in a restaurant, or anywhere else you want to go and hang out. As a result, you'll no longer have to sacrifice your social life because of your smoking habit. Won't that be a nice treat?! The ecigarette industry has found that electronic cigarettes are often allowed in areas where traditional cigarette use is banned by law.
DON'T worry about buying new supplies all the ...
... time
When you buy an electronic cigarette, you won't have to worry about spending any more money for awhile. That's because most of the parts in it are reusable (or rechargeable in the case of the battery). The only parts that aren't reusable will usually last you at least as long as a pack of traditional cigarettes - and in some cases, even longer.
DO look for your favorite flavor
An ecigarette comes with all of the "comforts" of its traditional counterpart - like menthol and robust flavorings. So, if you've come to love a particular flavor, you can stick with it. A good ecigarette retailer will have several flavors to choose from.
DON'T spend extra money on taxes
Because ecigs don't have any tobacco in them, they aren't subject to all of the same federal taxes that traditional cigarettes are. Think of all the money you'll wind up saving by going electric!
What could you do with that extra money?
DO feel better about the ingredients
Like their traditional counterparts, ecigarettes contain nicotine. However, they don't contain many of the carcinogens (or, the substances known to cause cancer) that you'll find in regular cigarettes. In fact, you'll find a much shorter ingredient list on your ecig packaging - which, for some people, is reason enough to make the switch! Tobacco cigarettes have over 5,000 chemicals.
Electronic cigarettes have 4…Water, flavoring agent, glycerin or propylene glycol, and nicotine.
Let's see…4 ingredients vs. 5,000
Tough decision!
DON'T let go of that cigarette “feel”
If you're a longtime smoker, you know there isn't much that beats taking that first puff after a long, stressful day. It's relaxing. It's calming.
Luckily, you can still get that same feeling with an ecigarette. Even though you won't see any smoke come, you'll see a special vapor that's designed to mimic real smoke. The end of your ecig will also glow when you puff, or "vape" on it. In fact, just to look at it you'll be hard-pressed to notice a difference!
