Poker is a card game where players wager on the strength of the cards they hold. The game of Poker involves a communal ‘pot' which consists of the players' wagers which is finally rewarded to the winner. Poker game lovers believe that it is easy to learn and play the game but quite difficult to master it. Many find this difficulty challenging and fun, which results in the game being popular worldwide!
Poker has earned its popularity due to the simple yet addictive nature of the game. Some basic Poker games available online are: Straight Flush, Royal Flush, Full House, Four of a kind, Three of a Kind, Two Pairs, Flush, High Card, Straight and Pair. Inspite of the variety of Poker games there are some general rules that apply to most variants:

Buy-In Rules

 For any game of Poker, you must make a full buy-in when entering the game. Be sure to buy at least ten times the maximum bet for that particular game, unless stated otherwise.

Rules Referring To Misdeals

 It is a misdeal when the first or second card is dealt face up.
 A misdeal is recorded when any player ...
... is dealt an incorrect number of cards.
 Any card dealt out of the proper sequence is considered a misdeal as well.
 When the card is dealt to an empty seat, the wrong player, or if a player was not dealt any cards, it refers to a misdeal.

Rules for Showdown

 During final round, every player has to show all cards face up.
 The player who acted first in the ‘all-in' final betting round, is the first to show his or her hand. In case of a side pot, all players for the side pot have to show their hands before going for the main pot.

Rules for Ties

 Other than a particular variant of Poker, suits are not used to break a tie for winning a pot. Suits from the lowest to highest rank are: clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades.
 The amount of side pots and main pots cannot be combined; they have to split as separate pots.
