Start packing and going over all the items in your home. You should decide if you plan to move all your stuff or take only the items that will be used. A good idea is to start from the basement or attic as you will find many items that have been tucked away and not used in months or even years. You can gift them away or plan a garage sale to get rid of most of the stuff. Keep aside the items that you would like to take with you. If you have any packing boxes in your home, you can sort out the items and put away delicate and fragile stuff. Make sure you make an inventory and list the items stored in each box. This will help you when you require getting your hands on something easily in your new home.

This includes the newspaper delivery, mail, magazine subscriptions etc. Your insurance agent will help you with the transfer or cancel coverage. If you are moving to another state, you should register your vehicle within 5 days after you arrive in order to avoid penalty. You will have to record your new address on the driver’s license or get a new one. If there are any overnight stops involved in the move, you should inform your relative and friends.
