Lose Weight In The New Year
Do not let this year end like last year, with you being no closer to your weight loss goals. Take this advice and you will be well on your way to a successful weight loss campaign.
So the New Year is upon us and you are ready and raring to go to lose weight. This year is finally the year where you focus in on your weight loss goal. You plan on eating right, exercising and doing the things necessary to achieve this goal that has plagued you for years. All of that is great so let me give you some advice to help you lose weight.
My first tip that I give everybody is to remember to keep drinking that ultimate weight loss elixir. No it's not Gatorade or some fancy sports drink, the ultimate weight loss elixir is, you guess it, water. The average person should be drinking sixty-four ounces of water daily, and since you are now no longer average you will need a bit more. Simply spread your water intake throughout the day. I keep a sixteen ounce sports bottle on my desk at the office and refill it a few times a day. This ensures I get plenty of water.
Next remember to eat smaller well balanced meals throughout ...
... the day. You should be eating one meal every two and a half to three hours for up to six meals. Each meal should consist of equal portions of protein (lean meats, fish), carbohydrates (brown rice, potatoes, fruit) and green vegetables (spinach, broccoli) with a portion size being the same size as your clenched fist.
Finally implement a well rounded exercise routine that includes both cardiovascular activities such as walking, bike riding, jogging and so on with a simple weight training routine. For your weight training routine pick yourself up a set of dumbbells and use them. Make sure you hit every muscle group (back, biceps, chest, triceps, legs, shoulders and abs) with one to three sets of eight to twelve reps and you will be well on your way.
Incorporating all three of these will turn your body into a fat burning machine which is what you are trying to do.
Just remember you should always consult your primary car physician prior to starting any type of physical fitness or nutrition program.
