Insulation Materials Keep The Buildings Protected

Around high heat areas, fire rated panels for fireproofing are used. These panels protect dividing walls, demising partition or party walls and similar places which are at risk of fire. A pre-assembled fireproof panel has its central area manufactured using a kind of continuous mineral wool. The fibers of mineral wool are non-combustible and that is why it is used to manufacture fire resistant panes. Panels which are 4” thick provide a one hour rating. Those which are 6” thick give two hour fire rating and some with 8” thickness give three hour rating. The material used is non-hazardous and guarantees zero gas emission. Also, it is washable and comes with a zero smoke developed rating. And it takes lesser time to construct a wall using these panes.
In buildings constructed with steel, cladding is provided using insulation materials such as blankets and facings meant for steel building insulation. When it comes to insulation blankets, the R-Value of this material must be high. Since, R-Value is directly proportional to the thickness of blanket ...
... therefore the latter one must be higher to result in an effective prevention of heat or fire. For the protection of exterior of building, facing materials are used. These facings when applied to blankets (made from fiberglass) result in a shield which does not allow the heat to pass through it. Other than this, it gives a fine look to the metal building. Available facings are WMP-VR, WMP-VR R, WMP-10, Gym Guard and Black Insulation. To cover the edges, tabs are used. A tab measuring 1-6” or 2-3” is suitable for the sides of fiberglass. However, to close the tab to next insulation piece, a double faced tape can be utilized. A pre-applied adhesive on a tab helps the installer to peel and stick it to the blanket and this provides a fine seal to the structure.
For the purpose of metal roof insulation, banding can be used to secure the metal roof and walls as well. When it comes to new construction, materials with high R-Values are required or in retrofit in order to keep the insulation intact. By means of arrows which are stick within the fiberglass, holding power of the protective shield is enhanced. InsulHold bands act as an additional support steel banding and steel liner panel. Stick pins guard the retrofit wadding to the walls. These pins are joined with wall panel using adhesive in a way that they penetrate the fiberglass and facings to keep the cladding secure and building protected.
“Steel Roof panels” offers products such as fire rated panels for fireproofing, metal re-roofing applications, foam insulated wall panels and many more.
