The Hypocrite and the Ostridge

Lottery software skeptics trumpet #4 from the rooftops. On the one hand, the skeptics say you can't improve your chances of winning the Lottery because the Lottery is a random game of chance. And yet, the very same skeptics use software to make investment decisions in the stock market. Their refusal to accept their own hypocrisy can sometimes border on whimsical. But, it's true, without quality software, even the skeptics have a case.

There are times when I've suspected that these skeptics are a branch of the human species that are somehow genetically linked to the Ostridge family. They keep their heads buried in the sand; adamantly refusing to look at the facts. You can just picture them gritting their teeth as they scrunch their eyes together so tightly that ...
... you can see the veins on the side of their head throbbing. They scream, 'Go away! Go away!' afraid that if they were forced to look at a Lottery trend, they would melt away like the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of OZ.

Fortunately, this branch of the Ostridge family is becoming an endangered species as more and more people overcome their fear of melting and take a look. When it comes to the Lottery, the old adage 'Seek and ye shall find.', still applies. So, let's go looking.

So, the chances are 1:100 that the winning numbers will all be odd. Now, the same thing is true for 0 odd numbers; in other words all even.

Winners and Losers

Now, the vast majority of people at the track are not going to bet on a three legged dog that's a 1:100 long shot. And, if the odds on a Sunday football game are 1:100 against the Slippery Rock Silver Fish, a smart person is not going to take that bet. And yet, for some unknown reason, some people play all odd numbers or all even numbers in every Lottery drawing. These people could use some good Lottery software.
