Alibaug, a Weekend Destination
Alibaug is called “Little Goa of Maharashtra”. Alibaug is the most popular weekend destination among the people of Mumbai and Pune.
Alibaug has inspired many bollywood directors to shoot movies on this beach. It is the perfect place for joggers and walkers. For adventures, there are water sports. Or just spend whole day on the beach relaxing and swimming.
Alibaug is best reached by private boat or ferry from the Gateway of India, in south Mumbai's Colaba area. The journey takes around 45 minutes to get to Mandawa Jetty. From there, the beach is another 30-45 minutes away by bus or auto rickshaw.
Alibaug can also be reached by road. The journey takes around three hours from Mumbai.
Visit Alibaug between November to February, when the weather is the coolest. From March onwards, the temperature starts rising before the monsoon sets in June.
