The Dream-like Walk In Closet
We decided to give my sister a surprise on her birthday. We all brain stormed to decide upon ideas which we could use to surprise her. The first thing that we thought was to gift her something but then we thought that we should get her something unique.
So, all of us sat down and decided as to what to give her. Just when we were about to get her a gift, my mother suggested that we gift her walk in closet instead. We all liked the idea; rather we loved the idea and decided to work on it as soon as possible.
The first we did was to see the space we had. Thankfully, we had a little cabinet which could be broken and the area behind it could be taken and merged to make a big beautiful walk in closet. So, while my sister was out for a short trip with her friends, we all got down to build her a closet she had always dreamed of.
After the initial construction and stuff, I got some people to install some solid surface countertops to create some strong storage space in the area. Countertops we thought were important as they are non-messy ...
... and make our job way easier to ensure enough storage.
After the installation of the countertops, we decided to build a separate corner for shoes. Separate laminate countertops were installed for the shoes. My sister loves shoes so there was no way that we could ignore the importance of shoe storage.
I wanted the walk in closet to have a bench in the middle without restricting the movement in the area. So, for that we got a nice plastic laminate bench installed right in the middle of the space. Why the bench, you may ask. Well, bench or sofa is important as one always needs space to sit and try shoes on etc.
After having the fixtures done, I chose the best lights I could, for the closet. I wanted the whole space to be very bright and illuminated. I bought a nice chandelier, some basic bright lamps and spot lights to jazz up the space.
I bought a nice big mirror and some nice posters to enliven the area. Mirror added an illusion of space. The mirror, apart from being an accessory was also important as a necessary item in the closet. Posters breathed in some life into the area and made the closet look peppy and spunky.
We loved the outcome.
