Honolulu, a huge city on the island of Oahu, is Hawaii’s best known tourist destination offering an array of sightseeing options, restaurants and nightlife. March: Hawaii Challenge International Sport kite Championship, a particularly historic festival, attracting participants from around the world

April: Honolulu International Bed Race, a fun event where teams push beds around the streets, raising money for charity

June: Taste of Honolulu, taking place during the middle of the month at the Civic Center grounds, with a host of food, beer and wine tasting

July: Hawaii International Jazz Festival, a major music event, with evening concerts taking place at the Sheraton Waikiki

December: Honolulu Marathon held at the beginning of the month each year, attracting in excess of 30,000 runners.
