Halifax is fast becoming a Mecca for outdoor sports enthusiasts who appreciate the mid-sized city as a temperate locale with a beautiful natural landscape. Anyone new to Halifax will immediately be charmed by how accessible the waterfront is from the downtown core. A boardwalk is available to those wishing to walk the city’s shoreline, taking in views of the thriving port and views of the greater Atlantic Ocean.

Finding Halifax Apartments for Rent is rarely difficult. Real estate observers note that because so many of the students attending one of the city’s eight universities so often move to and from Halifax, the rental market is somewhat insulated from factors that influence vacancy rates elsewhere in Canada.

More often than not, options are available to those interested in Renting an Apartment in Halifax. Simply put, anyone moving to city should be confident of finding a suitable place and can be heartened by the range of outdoor activities they will have access to by living in the coastal city.

Aside from being close to the waterfront at almost every turn, Halifax is home to many expanses of green ...
... space including a beautiful public garden in the city centre and Point Pleasant Park a few kilometers south. Dozens of wooded paths track across Point Pleasant Park making it a popular destination for runners, dog walkers, hikers and mountain bikers.

Water sports are also popular among Haligonians. The city is home to two at least two boating clubs and while the majority of the clubs’ members are keen to hit the ocean in their sailboats, in recent years, many have also grown fond of paddle boating, kayaking and canoeing. To cater to the budgets of students and those of academics, apartments in Halifax are reasonably priced. Studies show that the average two-bedroom rental unit in Canada goes for about $885.

Whereas in Vancouver that figure bumps to about $1,200 and in Toronto to $1,150, the average rent in Halifax hovers around $1,000. This is affordable, especially compared to rental rates in other provinces.

While in many parts of the world city living can be stressful and expensive, Halifax offers a comfortable and exciting lifestyle at an affordable price.

With CAPREIT, an investment property firm committed to providing safe, secure and comfortable accommodation to renters in more than 30,000 units throughout Canada.
