Holidaymakers Offered Tips To Help Them Relax

When people arrive at their holiday homes in north Wales, they tend to want to relax and unwind. However, thanks to modern technology, it seems actually achieving this may be easier said than done.

Research conducted by Latedeals.co.uk revealed that 77 per cent of people regularly checked their work emails while on vacation this year, while 65 per cent responded to the messages. Meanwhile, 81 per cent of those who looked at their work emails did so via smartphones.

The study, which was commissioned to coincide with National Stress Awareness Day, also found that 89 per cent of adults admitted they never feel fully switched off and they worry about what is happening at work even when they are on holiday.

Responding to the findings, Calum Macdonald at Latedeals.co.uk said: “It’s worrying how many people now find it so hard to switch off on holiday - literally! Down time is essential for recharging the batteries and reducing stress levels.”

She also advised that even when people take trips within the UK, they should tell colleagues they are heading abroad as this will make them less inclined to get in touch.

According to the expert, it is also a good idea for holidaymakers to avoid checking their smartphones. She stated: “People are fearful they’re not committed if they switch off. But replying to emails during time off just makes people think, ‘Go away, you’re on holiday’.”
