There is a lot of confusion in the local, small, and regional business arena as to what a Marketing Agency actually does. Some agencies handle all phases of advertising campaigns, from performing market research and establishing product branding strategies to producing ads and placing them in appropriate outlets.

The advertising agency is the second important component of the advertising spectrum. Advertising agencies produce logos, creating effective and attractive color schemes to draw the consumer's attention to their clients' ads. From the business point of view, the financial operations of an advertising agency are very different from those of every other commercial organization. Another important component of an advertising agency is the research department. In this department an advertiser who appoints an advertising agency to plan, produce and distribute advertisements to help market and sell its products and services.
