On my last visit to Home Depot, I was surprised to see that the store closest to my house actually stopped carrying the Mills Pride line of cabinets. In talking to one of the store associates he said that they took up too much storage space in the store, and that they could make a lot more money off the name brand cabinets that they sell (plus they didn't have to warehouse them, or physically touch them). As a home remodeler, I was disappointed that they were no longer carrying them, since I now had to find a new place to get all of my kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities.

Now that I needed to find a new source for contractor grade cabinets, I decided to search the web. Ideally I was looking for a cabinet line that was durable, but that I wouldn't have to wait 6-8 weeks to get them. While the Mill's Pride cabinets were a lower quality, it was very convenient to be able to pick them up on short notice. Since Home Depot and Lowes now dominate the home improvement market, it was very hard to find a local company that actually stocked comparable cabinets.

As I started searching, and asking on contractor ...
... chat rooms where I could start getting my cabinets from, I started seeing a lot of positive things about RTA Cabinets. Granted, the Home Depot line is basically an RTA cabinet that is already assembled, but I did have some reservations about buying something that I wasn't familiar with. I ordered some samples and the quality looked good, the price was great, and the turnaround time was surprisingly fast so I decided to place an order with a company online.

I have to say, they really did exceed my expectations. They had the look of higher end cabinets, with a solid construction. Once I got accustomed to how they went together, it was only taking me 4-5 minutes to put each one together. The great thing about them is that I can offer them to clients when bidding out a job and I can show them a real savings versus the name brand cabinets some of the other contractors use for bidding jobs.
