If you love gardening as a means to profit, then growing and selling Salvia plants is definitely a way to earn a stable income. Gardening as a hobby is actually not such a bad idea as you can radically turn this into a means of getting extra income especially with growing Salvia plants. You can actually start with a small investment for Salvia seeds/cuttings and the necessary gardening supplies in order to transform your backyard into a pipeline of reasonable income at the same time enjoying while doing it.

Planting and growing your very own stock of Salvia Divinorum definitely present a lot of advantages both as consumer and producer, but this article will not focus on such benefits but rather a simple step by step procedure on how to grow and sell this diverse medicinal herb and make good money out of it.

1. The first step you need to do is to decide if you should choose propagating Salvia from cuttings or seeds. The latter proves to be rather difficult to obtain since Salvia seeds are extremely rare to find in the open market let alone that some states have very strict laws regarding the plant’s usage. ...
... Opting for a Salvia cutting is preferably the viable choice. You can check online sources for suppliers for you to make arrangements in purchasing Salvia cuttings.

2. The next step in growing Salvia cuttings is to place the acquired cuttings in a glass container preferably with only 1.5 to 2 inches of clean water. Make sure that for each cutting you should place them individually per container. This way if one of the cuttings rots then it won’t affect the rest of the stock. Store them and change their water regularly for a couple of weeks

3. Now that each cutting thrive in their water containers, the Salvia cuttings should have visible roots stemming from the immersed portion of the cuttings that you should be able to plant them indoors using a pot. Take special precaution that Salvia roots should at least be 1 inch long for you to pull it out from the water container and transfer them into a soil pot. It should have loose soil and make sure to water them regularly to maintain a moist consistency. It is best to monitor the Salvia pots at least two to three weeks which by then will have already grown solid roots before transferring them outside.

4. Make sure to regularly give appropriate fertilizer a month after the plant has been transferred into its pot. Ideally, general fertilizer is suitable for growing Salvia but it is best not to overdo fertilizing your plants.

5. Constructing and creating a low cost a humidity tent is a must if you want your Salvia plants to grow to its full potential. A simple humidity tent need not be very expensive. A clear plastic bag to cover over each Salvia cutting will almost certainly do the trick. Another technique is covering the entire Salvia plant with a large enough upside-down jar. You should take extra care in making sure to fan out the humidity on a daily basis.

6. Repotting your Salvia plant into a larger pot of soil or transferring them in your backyard garden should be done every few months because your Salvia plant will most likely outgrow its current pot. Strategically placing your Salvia pots in lightly shaded areas but making sure it receives a 2-3 hours of sunlight each day for it to have the proper nourishment it needs to grow.

7. Selling your homegrown Salvia is probably the best part of the entire gardening experience that you can do as a reward for your tedious effort in caring for your Salvia plants. But selling it will prove to be more of an exciting challenge than it is growing them since not many people in your local vicinity will even bother bidding a good price for your Salvia plants. The best place to sell your Salvia plants would be in the online market. You can do this by logging into Salvia buy and sell forums wherein you will likely find people more than willing to pay the right price for your Salvia homegrown plants.
