Just Six Sigma in practice means "no errors". It became the collective name for a variety of methods and tools associated with improvement. Six sigma has been considered to be a good name for this approach based on proven facts. It aims to eradicate failures by identifying them and reduce the ratio to 3.4 defects per million opportunities.

Six sigma has chosen to "certify" the level of knowledge. It uses the same scale as Asian martial arts use and the level "Black Belt" holder is the leader or project master. Many companies also certify "Green Belt" or "Yellow Belt" or "White Belt" levels to their improvement leaders. 1. The Yellow Belt Six Sigma are aware of the issues and they assist in the implementation of an improvement project led by higher levels.
2. Green Belts are expected to partially dedicate their time (often around 25%) to conduct improvement projects.
3. The Black Belt is a team leader who is dedicated full time to the improvements (project management, training Green Belts, Yellow Belts or others) and must master the methods as a whole.
4. Master Black Belt trainers are guarantors of the process and oversee the Black Belts.
5. The Deployment Leader or Champion is responsible for developing the strategy, content of training, budgets, etc.

Note that these actors have their own certification rules, exams, academia, professional seminars, rites of passage etc. Some companies have signed agreements on mutual recognition of Six Sigma certificate. They also encourage their employees to get Six Sigma certified. Six Sigma certification is worthy of inclusion in a CV.
