Many people do not understand just how helpless illicit drugs can make them, and that counts for both the perpetrator and the victim in this next scenario. While victims can be targeted due to their being drugged, the perpetrator can also perform acts which they find themselves unable to even think of doing when they have a clear head.

During a recent interview with a rape victim, the author found out that the woman involved had been raped by her father, who had in turn been raped by his grandfather, who was also a victim of rape. This cycle of abuse is common within families and many people marry partners which are most similar to their parents, thus setting themselves up to repeat a positive or a negative cycle in their families’ histories.

During the interview, it came out that the victim’s father, who was both a rape victim himself and her perpetrator, was mentally and emotionally very twisted and warped. One can surmise that he was not born with these deficiencies, but that he was programmed to be maladjusted and unbalanced by the abuse which was upon him has a child. The lack of proper protection and ...
... appropriate nurturing from an authority figure like a parent causes a sociopathic or psychopathic nature to develop, which can easily lead to the abuse of someone else.

At all three levels of victim turned perpetrator, the individuals in this family abused drugs or alcohol to hide their internal pain, the pain that they also attempted to hide from when performing their abuse. Self abuse is learned behavior, and children who learn self abuse from their parents only know how to self abuse when they themselves are adults. The author can attest to this fact within her own family of violently abusive individuals.

In the workplace, employees must be given a safe, adequate environment in which to perform their daily productive functions. If they are not safe or do not feel safe, then this can affect their work performance or even how much work they are able to do in a week.

Drug screening in the workplace is a very useful tool. Workplace Alcohol Drug Testing allows a company to keep this part of people’s lives off limits to drugs or alcohol. It allows businesses to create a warm, safe, nurturing environment in which employees can work on the needs of the company, producing greater revenue and increasing the quality of living of everyone working there.
