In commercial facilities, dirty restrooms are a reflection of the type service one might receive from the business entity they are a patron of. Many businesses go the extra mile to check and clean their restrooms on an hourly basis. Luxurious facilities may even have a porter present to open doors and keep the patrons served well. Certainly this reflects how one pays attention to detail.

• Signs that encourage the washing of hands for employees can have added benefit in the health of the business as well. Encouraging a culture of cleanliness may have unintended beneficial consequences too.
• Cleaning of vents and exhausts in the bathrooms makes a positive difference in the appearance of a restroom. It is easy to notice dirty vents when they are not properly and regularly cleaned.
