Thrissur is a very popular tourist destination of the south which is also called the Town of Lord Shiva. An age old temple devoted to Lord Shiva located in the heart of the city is the major attraction of the city. It is said that the city was founded by Parusram who was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Thus this city is one of the oldest cities of the south with a rich cultural heritage.
