Agra is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the world probably because it’s one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Agra is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh located around 202 kilometers from Delhi, the capital city of India. Agra is also home to many historical monuments and forts such as Fatehpur Sikhri and Agra fort. This city was named the capital of many empires such as Lodhis and Mughals. Taj Mahal where the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal lies was built by her husband Shah Jahan who was the emperor of the Mughal Empire at that point of time. The city of Agra is situated on the bank of the river Yamuna, which is considered to be a very holy river and has many religious and historical connotations. Agra was built in 1475 and the monuments, forts and other architectural remains of this area reflect the art, culture and customs of the rulers who ruled this city over the years.
