Everyone wears clothes made by different brands and companies for different reasons. Some wear uniforms because their company, school or college requires that a certain code of conduct be followed and this helps bring a sense of unity though outside their workplace or college, they dress in a way that suits them. People wear clothes that suit their wants and sense of fashion.

The usage of clothes in order to advertise something or someone is known as promotional apparel and since the whole point of advertisement is to inform others about something or about someone, using clothes in order to make them aware of these is very effective. Many people supporting a specific political or celebratory individual show their love for these individuals by wearing clothes with their faces, mottos and/or quotes on them. On the day of elections in any country people can often be seen wearing clothes with their favorite political figure’s faces on these shirts.

Many countries and universities use clothes in order to promote themselves, too. Usually students, tourists and other people purchase these clothes because they “look good” on them. At the same time what many do not realize is that they are also promoting their countries and universities. So in addition to “looking good” one is also, unintentionally, advertising a country or university.

Promotional apparel is also used in order to make people aware of the existence of a certain company. When a new company opens up, they may get their logos imprinted onto a t-shirt or sweater and they may give these away for free just so that people know about them. This is actually a very cheap and effective way of advertisement.
Hence, clothes can be used in more than one way and it is a very effective way of advertisement. Though these can be used just to look or feel good, they can also be used in order to advertise a cause, person, country or company.
