Salvia Divinorum is a plant very useful in its medicinal qualities. This legal plant is common in many regions and can be used freely for its medicinal qualities. This plant reproduces through seeds and by use of the stems. This article will focus on reproduction of the Salvia without the use of seeds. Growing a Salvia garden without the use of seeds needs careful planning. This means growing the plant using cuttings. It is an easy to follow process, which takes in the use of small cuttings. The process involves:

• Collect or prepare Salvia cuttings of between 2 to 8 inches long. This is achieved from a mother plant. Take in clean, sharp shears and cut the desired size of cuttings from the plant. It is important to note that the cut should be made just below the node. The branch will sprout at this location from the cutting, which will stand as the trunk.

• Place the cuttings in a glass of water. Make sure that each cutting is placed at its own glass of water. Place the glass with about 4 to 5 centimeters water and the Salvia cuttings indoors where they can receive indirect sunlight.

• Maintain the ...
... glass water level for 2 weeks as the as the roots form on the cuttings under water in the glass to develop roots.

• With several roots formed on the cuttings to the length of about 1 to 2 cm, they should be transferred to small containers like pots that have loose soil for potting. Let the bottom of the pot have gravel to aid in drainage while you part soil where the cutting goes in. make sure to spread out the roots for good growth. The soil needs to be maintained moist to help the plant develop good rooting system. Always check that the plants do not become soggy. Keeping them indoors at this level is still important to protect the young shoots from the harsh weather outdoors.

• Repotting the plant to a larger pot after a few months is important to help the plant develop roots further due to the availability of more space.

• When transferred to the garden, Salvia plant should be supported when the shoot is about 3 feet tall. This will prevent the plant from snapping considering the fact that it has weaker shoots.

• Fertilization of the young shoots is important when they are at the age of one month after transplant to soil. After transplant, the plants grow well in full sunlight and with fertilizers applied monthly to help achieve a healthier growing plant. The soil needs to be kept between the moist and slightly dry position. During drought periods, the garden should be watered to keep the soil a bit moist but never soggy.

• In case of insect infestation to signs of diseases, the plants should be sprayed with fungicides to prevent them from dying. The plant needs to be observed until ready for harvesting.
