History

AC/DC is an Australian heavy metal ‘rock n roll' band. The band was formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. They decided to keep name AC/DC for their band after seeing AC/DC at the back of their sister's sewing machine. They recruited Larry Van Kridt, the bassist; Dave Evan, the vocalist and Colin Burquers, the drummer in their band. The bassist and drummer left the band soon. Mark Evan joined as bassist. In 1974, Dave Evan was replaced by Bon Scott.

The band's first album ‘High Voltage' was released in 1975. ‘Highway to Hell' released in 1979 was a huge success. It was their first album to reach US Top 100 list. In 1980, Bon Scott passed away. The band was on the verge of quitting but then decided to get back. Brian Johnson joined them as lead vocalist. Then the album ‘Back in Black' came in the market that made AC/DC more popular.
