Most developers decide to choose a particular platform based on the fact on what kind of percentage does a platform enjoy in terms of installed devices. Almost 85% of iPhone app developers showed interest in developing iphone applications for iOSsmartphones, which in comparison to Android 76% is higher. The survey also showed about 83% of iphone application development teams were interested in creating apps for iPad in comparison to Android’s 66% for tablets.

This aspect in itself shows that iPhone app developers prefer iOS platform in comparison to other platforms when it comes to developing apps. Another particular area that this survey focused on was HTML. The survey showed that most developers especially iPhone app developers when asked to show their levels of satisfaction in regard to HTML, it seemed they were less satisfied and quite discontented with HTML. This means that even though HTML does offer access to a larger percentage of mobile devices across platforms, most iPhone app developers choose to continue with native platforms such as iOS6. All these factors point towards only one aspect that is iPhone developers are keen on working on native platforms and developing applications for iOS. For instance, even Facebook admitted they lost out when they depended on HTML rather than native platform such as Cocoa Touch from iOS platform. This is the reason that most iPhone app developers continue to depend on iOS platform.

The opportunities that iOS6 offers when compared to other platforms has made it possible for iPhone developers to focus on building different types of iPhone applications. This survey has definitely brought to the spotlight the comparison between iPhone and Android and how even now iPhone platform continues to be a favorite with iPhone developers.
