This has happened as civilians have taken sides on the Syrian war and turned against each other. In a bid to calm the situation down, the Lebanese government has sent its troops out into the streets. Needless to say, the politique Liban is in a state of unrest.

With the army coming into the picture, it is clear that the economie Liban is suffering. Checkpoints have been erected and businesses have had to shut their doors due to the explosions and riots in the cities of Beirut and Tripoli. In addition, the army has warned that the fate of the nation hangs on a balance. ... yet another civil war. The city of Beirut, once a thriving economic hub, has now become divided along religious lines as some support Syria while others are against the regime.

With the fighting escalating, it is becoming clearer that the projected growth of the economie Liban will not happen. Business has been paralyzed and so has transport. Many are unable to make it to their places of work, while others have had to shut their shops to avoid looting. In addition, the kidnap of foreigners has led to some embassies asking their citizens to leave Lebanon. Other countries have set up travel advisories against the country. The politique Liban are uncertain and the army has actually stated that the fate of the country is indeed at stake. This can only make the situation worse.

The assassination of General Wissam Al – Hassan who was the chief of intelligence in Lebanon has also triggered quite a bit of unrest. General Al – Hassan was an opponent of Syria and he was bombed in his car. There was actualite Liban saying that youths and other gunmen had set up checkpoints in the country demanding to see identification papers for all who passed by. By this, they are able to identify their religion and those of the ‘wrong’ religious affiliation are mishandled quite severely and even killed. With government troops in the streets, there is much tension as they set up roadblocks and cordon off parts of the city that are ranked as the most dangerous. Politicians have been urged to choose their words with care when addressing crowds and to show restraint in order to keep the citizens calm. It is also reported that there are snipers hidden in the bombed out buildings who are taking out their perceived enemies one by one. One report said that a girl, only 9 years of age, had been shot by a sniper. In all this, the economie Liban has suffered greatly. It will take a while for it to recover.
