The Subaru BRZ – The Heat Is On

The Subaru BRZ is an outstanding driver’s car and one of the most fun and affordable sports cars to be offered for years. The rear wheel drive vehicle is the product of a joint partnership between Toyota and Subaru. Both are awe-inspiring, exciting to drive and astoundingly economical. They now hold a place in the market which was dominated in the eighties by the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri. These days, their competitors include the rear wheel drive Nissan 370Z and VW Scirocco and Audi TT.

The Subaru BRZ really differentiates itself from other cars when on road. It has different lights and a Subaru grille which makes it different from its Toyota GT86 sister car. Most cars sold will be the top of the range car; it has 17-inch alloy wheels as standard. The dashboard is made from durable materials but don’t come close to VW or Audi for quality. The Subaru BRZ is made to give the driver ultimate experience of driving. The 2.0 litre 197bhp engine is placed very low in the chassis, which gives it a low centre of gravity. The BRZ feels very active not flimsy and the breaks are firm.

The ...
... Subaru BRZ comes equipped with driver, passenger and side airbags, as well as traction and stability control systems. It hasn’t been tested yet by the Euro NCAP crash test rating experts but it should perform well. It is a very lively car with strong brakes. One thing to keep in mind is that BRZ is a product of Toyota and Subaru; both have strong reputation for reliability so that area is covered well. The Subaru BRZ engine is outstandingly efficient. Subaru says it can do 30mpg and CO2 emissions of 159g/km. The boot capacity is 243 litres which is 50 less than that of the Audi.

The BRZ is a light car so it is easy on its brakes and tyres. Insurance is not cheap and servicing costs can be on the expensive side. Make sure to get the ETCo offer from Subaru. Resale values are strong for the BRZ. The BRZ will not be mass produced so it will be a rare car. The Subaru BRZ is the first rear wheel drive car from Subaru. Although it lacks power but the handling is excellent. It lets itself down by having an average cabin quality and low-rev power. However, it has good handling along with frugal engines. The good looks really make it stand out from other cars on the road.
