The number one thing to consider while storing olive oil is to make sure that it is kept in a cool dark and hygienic place. It goes without saying that moist place or places with certain amounts of bloating will not do much for the same. Another tip is to keep it away from cooking devices which produce heat as well. If you are reluctant to invest in a good and fairly expensive oil container, there is another method as well. Just cover the container with tinted paper instead. Using really dark and thick paper for the wrapping will also give you the proper results. Refrigeration of olive oil is something that can be done as well. Nevertheless, the oil will tend to cake or in fact freeze if refrigerated. So, what you can do is keep a fixed amount of oil away by tinting or whatever and keep the main rations inside the refrigerator.
