Here are some steps to keep in mind as you start on the road to your new self.

1.Increasing metabolisms: Your metabolic rate is the determining factor in how much fat you will burn at a given time. Keep in mind that low calorie diets slow your metabolism down, when your metabolism slows less weight is lost.

This is why crash diets do not have any long term effect. As you lose weight keep an eye on your metabolic rate and adjust as necessary.

... on the market today leave out one of the most crucial parts to any successful weight loss program, and that is exercise. Exercise is a must. Exercise kicks your metabolism in to high gear and gets the fat burning.

Start out simple with some light aerobics, you can always work your way up to more intense training as you progress. Aerobics will help you burn the fat.

3.Pace yourself: Do not try to lose the weight too all at once. In this fast paced society we want everything now. And weight loss is no different. But losing the weight too fast can have adverse affects on your health. Unfortunately the best way to lose weight is slowly. Ideally your goal should be no more than 1 or 2 pounds per week.

4.Eat low fat foods: Yes we have all heard the experts say the same thing, that you should eat only those foods that have a low fat content. Read the labels, you will be surprised by some of the things on the side of the can.
