Till a few decades ago floor heat services meant using elements, large in size, installed beneath the concrete floor. They were expensive and not very trustworthy. Tile heat services have come a long way since. In the present scenario, people can barely imagine a life without them. Cables for electric floor heat have earned a wide reputation as energy and cost saving agents. Even the average household can get them installed for very little costs. Let us now discuss the ways of installing the tile heat facilities for added comforts.

What you need in the first place is a map of the floor area that charts the entire layout design and the nature of heating cables running through the floor. Measure the area of the room where the Floor Heat system is slated for installation. It is advisable not to place them directly beneath objects like toilets, kitchen cabinets which are fixed to a point. Hence, subtract the area occupied by these objects from the total space counted by you.

Make sure that the floor is mopped and wiped properly. ...
... Remove stuff like particles of dust from the surface of your floor.

If your floor has an uneven surface, applying a layer of floor primer across the length and breadth of the section will generate desired results. Follow it up with another layer containing either cement or such other compounds that are self-leveling. Smear the cement with a mastic trowel exerting pressure evenly on a leveler to push the particles deep into every corner.

Trim the Tile Heat cable or mat to a size fitting your requirements. If you have chosen mats, be very particular about cutting the requisite fiber parts only and leaving the elements of heating intact.

Place the mat or cable against the floor space pointed out in the drawing and get it fixed using tape. The mat or cable is to be covered with adhesive or leveling compound, thereby encapsulating the elements of heating completely.
