Many universities give away clothes (jackets and t-shirts) with their mottos and logos as souvenirs and this helps create a sense of unity amongst the students of the university while at the same time creating awareness on a larger scale around the world.

Many people or groups who like to promote a cause use this form of advertisement in order to attract other people to the cause, too. An example is that of companies using clothes to show their stance against terrorism.Similarly, many political parties and figures running in an election use this in order to advertise themselves or their slogans/manifestos (to an extent).

People who purchase (unless these are being given away for free) these show their support for these figures and parties, too. Clothes are used by countries to advertise themselves, in a way, too. Many countries use t-shirts by printing their national flags onto these shirts. Often celebratory figures and ordinary individuals can be seen wearing such clothes on the independence day of their countries.

To conclude, this form of advertisement is cheap and effective. It can be used for a number of reasons, causes, and agendas and it helps create awareness on a much larger scale as opposed to other methods of advertisement.
