Accounting is one of the easiest ways to manage the cost which has been incurred or to find out the profit which has been earned by the company. It is easy to maintain the accounts if the fundamentals are known by the accountant. There should be a proper accounting system which shows the profit and loss account , balance sheet , trading account and all other accounts cleanly that if one goes through it, they can easily make out all the transactions which has taken place and how much it costs or how much has been earned from it.

So when it comes to construction where lots of items are there which will cost in millions and more than that. Hence it is very much necessary to maintain an accounting system with the help of accountant i.e. the accountant for contractors who maintains the accounts of contract and an account system which will record all the transactions properly that at the end he will get to know the profit which has been earned.

... he may try to eat up the money for his personal gain, hence it is necessary for a contractor to know at least the fundamentals of accounts so that he can identify the journals and ledgers properly and the entries which have been made in the profit and loss account and he should have basic knowledge of items which comes in balance sheet such as assets and liabilities, so there is a need for accounting for contractors so that they cannot be cheated by accountants through fraud or some misleading or misrepresenting documents which can be approved by the contractor if he knows what is being entered and whether it’s true or not he can easily make out the mistakes of it and correct it, so it is always good to know more on accounts for a contractor.
