EDM process has helped manufacturers a lot by making it easy for them to manufacture complex work parts. Every device is made of several other parts and today every company tries to use the space as efficiently as possible. For this efficiency they have to create complex parts so that they can take number of tasks from these parts. With any ordinary cutting machine like CNC machine or end mill etc manufacturers can not get high level of efficiency. That’s why manufacturers use EDM wire method for accurate and precise cutting. There are two electrodes in every EDM machine and these electrodes constantly emit electric sparks which erode the material. It is only due to this technique that now manufacturers can cut and punch holes in even 300mm thick sheet. This method does not only shape work piece but it also removes all the waste material from work piece.

1770 was the year in which a British physicist with a name of Joseph Priestly started his research about the erosive effects which an electric discharge can produce. Working on his foot steps two Russians accidently invented a process through which they can control ...
... the process of machining of metal. Lazarenko brothers invented this process in 1943 and they named it as Lazarenko circuit. Someadvancement were made in the year of 1952 and 1955 but proper EDM wire cutting machine was invented in 1969 and it was launched by Agie. The CNC controlled EDM wire machining was invented in 1972 in Japan and since then is being used in all over the world. The most important component of EDM wire machine is de-ionized water is very useful in this process because it never lets the electrodes to heat metal more than required. This can damage the product which is not beneficial for any company. Now there are some companies who use number of electrodes for cutting process so that they can finish products quickly.

These electrodes are set in a special manner and they are used in those places where cutting, holes and cavities are to be made all at the same time. These electrodes are set to cause a specific effect on the product. As described earlier that the more these electrodes will come close higher will be their damage so it takes more time of manufacturers to set the distance of electrodes again and again. To get rid of this problem they use multiple electrodes which are set at a constant distance. With these electrodes the pace of the work increased and it also saved a lot of time of workers. There are number of virtues of this machining and because of this it is very popular. It leaves a smooth surface after its operations and can cut those metals in minutes for which normal cutting machine takes hours. It holes it drills are usually very fine and with this technology symmetry can be maintained. It can also remove any broken tool from the work piece without damaging the work piece.
