Surrogacy In India

Surrogacy in India
Surrogacy simply means, renting a womb for having a baby. It is advisable to those women who had repeated miscarriages, female infertility, uterus removed for some clinical process or to those who either has no or a malformed uterus. India is emerging as the surrogate hub and the main reason is the cost factor. It is estimated to be 5 times cheaper than in the west. The clinics in India are equipped with specialized doctors who are dedicated and skilled with global experience, availability of surrogates and all other amenities to make the entire procedure comfortable. The only hindrance observed with the Indian culture the degree of acceptance. Surrogacy is considered a taboo amongst those who have little or no knowledge about it. As long as there is a mutual agreement and laws defined around the process, there can be no issues whatsoever. Couples also develop a fear that a surrogate mother later may not want to handover the child to you, but the truth is that a surrogate mother can have a child of her own; she doesn’t want yours. It is time that ...
... our minds become open to the realities connected with surrogacy and accepts them.
The surrogacy process:
Couples opt for surrogacy where the women are not able to carry the baby. They undergo screening process that includes the family history, personal, age factor and medical examination is looked into for the physical and mental well-being of the surrogates.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines, the doctors need to be involved in this process and clinically support the pregnancy, a legal contract is signed between the couple and the surrogate regarding the financial compensation for the surrogate mother apart from settlement of all pregnancy related medical bills, surrogate mother should give up all parental rights on the child, the age of the surrogate must be between 21-35 years of age and should be physically and mentally fit with proven fertility. An independent lawyer is recommended to parents, if a legal aid is needed. Kindly identify a reliable surrogate for your plan. Avoid getting into any legal complications at the end moment. All terms of agreement should be clearly defined so that both the parties are well protected throughout this process.
