Care Tips For Your Glassware, Crockery And Your Kitchen

If you love your kitchen, you’ll always want everything in it gleaming with cleanliness. After all, a good portion of your health will probably depend on it. Even if you rarely eat at home, all it takes is just a few harmful microorganisms on your Glassware, utensils, dishes, etc. to make you sick.
If you want that this part of your home safe for everyone in the household, make sure you know how to clean things right, especially for your most sensitive kitchenware.
Cleaning Your Glassware
Glassware is delicate, so treat it delicately. While warm water is good to wash those glasses with, keep the temperature just enough not to cause them to crack or break. Also use gentle cleaning chemicals or better yet, remember what grandma told you about vinegar being very good for this purpose. Avoid using the dishwasher, and when wiping those glasses dry, use a soft dishcloth or sponge and never anything with rough pads that could leave scratches on them. Put a rubber mat on the sink to keep them from cracking and breaking when you accidently put them ...
... down with more force than needed. Don’t do that infamous “twist” motion on them either, and do store them under room temperature. As you know, extreme heat or cold can cause them to break or crack.
Your Expensive Crockery
Your crockery should be just as delicate as your glassware (though less obviously so.) Treat it just as delicately then. The same rules goes - no scrubbing pads for cleaning. You can use the dishwasher, but check the manual for the correct settings. When arranging them in the dishwasher, don’t let them stick too close to each other, and avoid adding more detergent than needed to avoid dulling the finish. Of course, it’s best to hand-wash those pieces using a gentle detergent, again, to prevent scratches. Also put a rubber mat or cloth in the sink for extra protection, and do avoid washing them with cutlery. When possible, always store them in a cabinet with a soft cloth or tissue in between pieces.
Maintaining a Hygienic Kitchen
Of course, there is no use cleaning your glassware or crockery without keeping your entire kitchen hygienic. Make sure all the surfaces are wiped down, and your sink free from biofilm or slime. Everything must be dry, from the floor to your utensils, and all cookers must be clean inside out. Very important - don’t mix utensils used on raw meat with clean ones to avoid contamination. For your Hygiene Supplies, make sure you have enough detergent (not too strong for your delicate kitchenware though) for cleaning all equipment. A disinfectant is also a must if only to keep most bacteria out. Anti-bacterial products, which are often a mix of detergents and disinfectants, must also be on hand. When using any of these supplies, always check usage instructions.
You don’t just want your precious glassware or crockery to be spotlessly clean and shiny. You also need everything in your kitchen free of germs. With these tips, you should have a healthy kitchen environment that will be a joy to move around in while whipping up your favorite recipes
