The whiteboard was invented by Martin Heit, a photographer. The idea was originally developed for having next to a wall phone to take messages down on. Dry-wipe white boards have a multitude of uses whether for keeping notes, making plans or order lists from suppliers. Simply write on the board with dry-wipe pens and wipe off with special erasers. The boards are easily cleaned if sited in food preparation areas and available in a wide range of sizes.A whiteboard is a board made of melamine, painted enamel on steel, or porcelain. Using erasable markers, its non-porous surface allows it to be used like a chalkboard. Melamine is the least expensive option. Steel boards offer magnetic properties. Porcelain boards are the most durable.
