Dance shows are extremely popular. In fact, it is not only TV that has cottoned onto out mutual love for seeing impressive dance mixed with frivolity, and many films have also based their whole premise around unique and interesting dance moves and the interplay between those doing the dancing.

But why is it that we all love these shows and films so much?

Ultimately, dancing is a very effective metaphor for life. In the majority of these shows we see people striving to overcome barriers that are put in their way. We see personal struggles and physical ones as they constantly try to better themselves and improve their ability, and this instantly evokes emotions within us as we root for the underdogs and those who truly deserve to take the glory.

As in any sport, we root for those we truly care about and are taken on a genuine journey with those that we most connect with. But with these shows we get a whole lot more too, seeing behind the scenes at how they struggle to get to a certain standard. Furthermore, we are also simply drawn to the medium of dance as a great form of expression.

... of such shows has also seen a rise in the popularity of people taking dance classes in London. Whilst it may indeed be exciting to watch people succeed (or fail) at new dances each week, many people are finding that it is actually even more rewarding to take up dancing themselves. Not only do they get all the mental benefits of watching the show, but they also get many extra physical benefits to boot and essentially find themselves in their very own dance show. And once they have started to go to tango classes in London, not only do they get to enjoy the dance process themselves, but they also get to understand and relate to their favourite dance shows all the more as a result.
