Global Switch Spends Hk$2.8 Billion On Building Hong Kong Data Centre

Global Switch, the market leading operator and owner of low cost carrier neutral data center space in The European countries and Asia-Pacific, has purchased building area on the Tseung Kwan O (TKO) Industrial Estate in Hong Kong to develop a Tier III1 plus data center that signifies the organization's access to the Hong Kong sector.
Global Switch plans to make investments around HK$2.8 billion over the entire program of the development, with additional investments stemming from distinct client specifications. This investment decision to develop Hong Kong's biggest data centre is in reaction to strong demand from customers, and is in accordance with Global Switch's method of broadening in essential local IT and connectivity sites.

... built the data centre will provide 35,000 sq m (375,000 sq ft) total area with 45MVA of utility power and have best-in-class enviromentally friendly qualifications concentrating on a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Rating. Development is organized to begin in 2013, with the initial stage of space getting operational in Q1 2015.

We have ambitious expansion plans to further strengthen our leadership in the Asia Pacific region, with further new data centres planned in the near future."
