History

Metallica is the best heavy metal rock band there is. Las Ulrich, a drummer invited guitarist cum vocalist James Hetfield to join him in 1981. The duo started composing and recording music. The name Metallica was given by Ron Quintana, a friend of Lars. Later, Dave Mustaine joined them as guitarist who was replaced by Kirk Hamlet in 1983. Cliff Burton joined them as Bassist. Metallica's First album ‘Kill 'em All' was released in 1983. The album increased the Metallica's fan base and then they performed in various live shows. The most tragic moment in the life of Metallica occurred when Cliff Burton was killed in an accident. However the band soon rebounded from the shock. ...
... Jason Newsted was chosen as the new bassist. In 1988 their new album 'Justice for All' released. This album was nominated for the Grammy Awards. In 1991 they released a self titled album ‘Black'. This was followed by ‘Load' in 1995 and then ‘Reload' in 1997. In 2003 ‘St. Anger' was released. Their latest album ‘Death Magnetic' was released in September, 2008. All their five albums from ‘Justice to All' to ‘Death Magnetic' have debuted at number one on Billboard 200. All shows of Metallica are hit and Metallica concert tickets sell out quickly.

Death Magnetic Tour

Metallica is supported by three other bands in its Death Magnetic tour. It will be performing in three legs with these bands. The Sword will accompany Metallica in all its shows. In the November shows, Metallica performed with ‘Down'. In December shows they will perform with ‘Lamb of God' but unfortunately Lamb of God will not accompany them on December 17 show in Los Angeles as they have problems with the venue owners. The good news is that Machine head will accompany Metallica for its Los Angeles shows. ‘Machine head' will also perform with Metallica in all its January shows.
