There are lots of weight loss products on the market today that tell consumers they can eat anything they want and still lose weight fast. But that's not really true. When you start a new diet you do have some fast weight loss because you're losing water weight. So while you might drop five to ten pounds the first week that you're on a new diet you're not really losing fat you're just losing water weight. So once that water weight is gone the fast weight loss will stop and you will start losing weight at a normal rate which is one to two pounds per week. That might not seem like fast weight loss but you're more likely to keep that weight off if you lose it at a slower rate. Studies have proven over and over again that people who experience fast weight loss on fad diets usually will gain back all the weight they lost and then some, but people who lose weight more slowly tend to keep that weight off. Wouldn't you rather lose weight more slowly and keep it off rather than have fast weight loss and then gain it all back? The only way to really lose weight and keep it off is to change your eating habits so that you eat less, and eat healthier foods when you do eat, and to increase the amount of exercise that you get. Exercise is the key to losing weight. When you exercise you do more than just burn calories, you also build up your muscles. When your muscles are heavier then your body uses more calories just performing normal everyday activities which can help you lose weight. If you need to boost your exercise routine you should try working out at home using a P90X workout video. Working out at home is a great way to get some exercise in when it's just not convenient to hit the gym or if the weather is bad and you don't to go for a walk or ride your bike. With so many different kinds of home workout videos available today there is just no excuse for you to not get at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. Experts say that 30 minutes of exercise a day plus cutting your calories and eating healthier food is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. You might not have the dramatic fast weight loss that some diet products promise but you will get steady weight loss that you will be able to sustain for years. Fast weight loss can be unhealthy for your body so don't starve yourself and don't try to see how fast you can lose weight. Focus on making healthy changes to your lifestyle so you can get thin and stay fit for the rest of the your life.
